Private Teaching Anne-Elise Keefer can offer private flute lessons for all ages and levels from raw beginner to professional. She has successfully taught children as young as four years old, elementary and high school students, university and graduate students, amateur adults and senior citizens. Anne-Elise has provided flute tuition privately, for music schools, camps and institutes of higher learning. Starting a private practice in 1972, while still a student herself at the University of Toronto, Anne-Elise has maintained teaching studios in Toronto, Oslo (Norway), London(Ontario) and Vancouver. A proponent of "The French School", Anne-Elise has had the good fortune to have studied with teachers who can trace their training back in an unbroken chain to Gaubert, Taffanel and beyond. She has studied with Marcel Moyse, Louis Moyse, James Galway, William Bennett, Geoffrey Gilbert, Ornulf Gulbransen, Nicholas Fiore and Robert Aitken. In 2003-04, in preparation for the Boston Symphony First Flute audition she was invited to attend, she took additional coaching in orchestral repertoire with Camille Churchfield, former Principal Flute with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. Receiving her A.R.C.T. from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto in 1972, she was awarded First Class Honours in both her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Music Performance from the University of Toronto. In addition to the invaluable orchestral training Anne-Elise was fortunate enough to receive as a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Canada, a series of Canada Council Arts Grants enabled her to pursue doctoral equivalent training for three years at Norway's Musikkhogskolen. Anne-Elise has had Suzuki Flute teacher training at Eastern Tennessee State University, and privately with Kenichi Ueda.She has taught The Suzuki Method for the Suzuki Institute in London, Ontario, for the Richmond Music School, and for the Vancouver Academy of Music, where she is Head of the Suzuki Flute Department. She can provide expertise on concert flute, piccolo and baroque flute and can offer an introduction to ethnic flutes such as Chinese flutes ( "dizi "),South-American zampogna (pan-pipes) and Irish wooden flute. With her experience as an international recitalist, concerto soloist, chamber musician and member of symphony, opera, ballet and musical theatre orchestras, Anne- Elise teaches a variety of repertoire including: - Solo flute
